About Our Practice

Arapahoe Park Pediatrics (APP) has proudly served the South Metro Denver area since 1953. Ralph Shugart, MD founded the practice when Broadway and University were still dirt roads south of County Line. Dr. Shugart was even featured in the July 31st, 1964 issue of Life Magazine as a pioneering Colorado pediatrician.  Roger Spalter, MD joined Dr. Shugart in the 1960′s as the area’s population began to blossom. With Dr. Shugart’s retirement in the 1970′s, Vincent DiMaria, MD and William Delano, MD expanded the practice with Dr. Spalter.

Today, the APP team includes two clinic locations, six Board-certified pediatric doctors, two physician assistants (PA) with specialties as Child Health Associates, and a host of health care professionals ready to assist you and your child. Our PA’s are graduates of the University of Colorado Health Science Center CHA/PA program. This program includes specialized education in the care of infants, children, and adolescents.
